    Heidi Yancey is originally from Newark, Delaware. Heidi has four brothers and is the only girl. At the age of five years old, Heidi would watch the television show "Fame". The well-known performer, Debbie Allen, inspired her. Heidi started taking her first dance class which was ballet. Heidi was the only African American girl in her class, so she faced many difficult challenges. By the age thirteen, Heidi was taking ballet, tap, and jazz. Heidi later became Delaware's first African American Ballerina to dance as a soloist in the ballet "Cinderella." We are lucky to have such a talent to teach our youth the art of dance.

    We would like to invite all branches of active and retired military, as well as their families and general public to our Memorial Day Ceremony. This event is held at our Military Court of Honor, at Railroad Park in Downtown to remember those who served. Light refreshments will be served immediately following the ceremony.
